Nina Freysen-Pretorius has 25 years’ experience in the conference industry and started her own company in 1997 organising corporate events and conferences, which has evolved to specialise in national and international association conferences as well as association management.
Nina is passionate about conferencing and lives up to her company’s mission and vision of “bringing people together to learn and aspire”. In a highly competitive industry, Nina has proven to be one of the top PCOs in South Africa, as well as an ambassador for business tourism whilst attending overseas conferences and shows.
In 2008 Nina was invited to serve on the ICCA Board as Chair of the ICCA Africa Chapter then as a Board representative for the Africa/Middle East Regions. In 2009 Nina was invited to serve on the ICCA Management Finance Committee and in 2010 was voted as 2nd vice-Chair of the ICCA Board. On the 2nd of November 2014 Nina was voted as the President of the ICCA board and again for a second term in November 2016, she also currently serves on the ICCA Management and Finance Committee.
Nina has had a long association with the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI), firstly as a member then as patron member, which led to serving on the SAACI KwaZulu-Natal Branch Committee then as Chair of the SAACI National Board.
With Nina’s experience in Business Tourism, she has been invited on numerous occasions to participate in KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Tourism Workshops and on Committees, as well as invited by the National Minister of Tourism to participate in strategic workshops on such matters as the National Draft Tourism Bill and South African Tourism initiatives, amongst others.
Currently Nina is a member of the WPCO Alliance and Meetings Professional International.
