John D Chacko is the President of International Advertising Association (IAA) Malaysia, and leads its strategic and day to day operations.
 
He is a veteran in branding and marketing, with over 35 years’ experience, working alongside Kraft and Coca-Cola across multiple continents and cities including, New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Middle East, Africa, North America, Latin America and Asia.
 
In 2011, he returned to Malaysia under Talent Corporation, where he assumed key responsibilities as Group Chief Marketing Officer for Proton Holdings, and Chief Executive Officer cum Managing Director of LeapEd Services.
 
Chacko has helmed the role as President of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) Victoria in the mid 1990s and was a member of the AMI National Board. Apart from his current role as President of IAA Malaysia, he is Global Vice President of Education & Chairman of IAA Global Education Council, and an IAA World Board and Executive Committee member. He was appointed earlier this month as Executive Officer of the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations ( AAFA). Chacko is the Chairman of the 46th IAA World Congress 2023 to be held in Malaysia.
 
His other involvements include, being member of the Institute of Company Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). He is Board Director,Advisor and Adjunct Professor at the faculty of Media Studies and Communication at UiTM. He has served as Chairman of the judging panel for the EFFIES, APPIES and the Malaysia CMO awards. He is a graduate in Management from New Zealand and has been part of many executive programmes with Wharton, Emory, Georgia Tech, McDonald’s University and Coca-Cola.
